My grandpa keeps saying no to the food we put on his plate because he claims that he’s ‘too fat and cannot gain any more fat.’ (He’s one of the fittest old person I know.) He’s turning 81 next year and he still dyes his hair and puts on anti-aging cream and, of course, watches his weight.

Today my mom told me that she wouldn’t mind me having a boyfriend because she’d like to think that there’ll always be someone to do things like pick me up from the airport, walk back home with me in the wee hours of the morning, and make sure that I’m safe.
